Missing "Main Identity\Local Folders" folder

Hi:

I've had an Outlook email folder go missing. All of the subfolders and
emails in it are still located by search, and it reports them all as
being in the "Main Identity\Local Folders\Customers_&_Contacts"
folder. Every message that search locates is complete, including any
attachments, and can be opened in Outlook from the search results.

I need help locating where this folder actually is so I can try to
recover it to Outlook.

Desparate, any guidance is greatly appreciated.

Regards, Paul

Outlook never stores data there. Outlook Express does.
Better make sure what application you are using. It's does not sound like
Outlook.

Thanks for the prompt response. I am presently using Office Outlook
2007, but this was an upgrade from OE Express. I suppose that search
is seeing just messages from before the import to , I'll have to study
the results more closely to see. If that's all there is to fing, is
there a way to get these messages into Outlook? Thanks.

If the missing folder was in fact deleted, are there utilities /
tricks for recovering it? Thanks.

You're still making no sense. Outlook 2007 is in no way an upgrade to
Outlook Express. The two programs have nothing to do with one another.
You'll need to provide more accurate and complete information on how you
configured Outlook and what you did to "lose" your folders. A search for
Outlook data would never turn up anything for Outlook Express. How did you
conduct this search?

Thanks for your patience. I only mentioned OE as I had used that at
one point. Upgrade may have been the wrong term. When Outlook 2007
was installed, some time ago, all data was imported to it, (I then
stopped using OE). I can see the OE messages by searching with Google
Desktop, and with Copernic desktop search. It seems though, that
these are not the messages I am hoping to recover as you say that
"Main Identity\Local Folders" is not related to Outlook 2007 . So now
I am hoping to learn how to locate and recover an Outlook 2007 folder
named "Main Identity\Local Folders\Customers_&_Contacts" . What
configuration details would be useful to you? I can tell you that we
are not using Exchange Server, just the POP server that came with
Windows Server 2003. I can't say exactly what I did to cause the
folder to go away. I am pretty careful about delete, but I suppose
anythings possible, and that may be what happened. Thanks again

Again, your Outlook data would never be in that location. What are you
seeing that makes you think it is? Anything in that location is your old
Outlook Express data.
Where and how Outlook data is stored and how to restore it are documented
daily in these groups. I'll repost this information:
The file you need is your Personal Folders file (*.pst) It's where all the
mail, calendar, contacts etc are stored.
Take a look at these pages for info on Outlook data backup or transfer:
http://www.slipstick.com/config/backup.htm
http://www.howto-outlook.com/Howto/backupandrestore.htm
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA010771141033.aspx

Do you not backup your data files? If you permanently deleted information
from an Outlook data file, you would need to restore from a backup.

OK, I understand, the search results I am seeing are from my old OE
file. That's done.

Now I need to find out if there is any way to recover a missing/
deleted Outlook 2007 file without a backup.

To be more clear. I am missing a single folder the was uder my
"Personal Folders" in Outlook 2007. I do not have a backup. Is there
any way that I might recover this missing folder? Thanks.
