Missing List

My computer shut down suddenly and even with backup
I lost a file. I found it in hidden files, but it had
been converted to an html file. Does anyone have a clue
what to do. Please help

How did your computer shut down "Suddenly"? What kind of
file was it originaly? This will make the difference
between an easy recovery and hitting your 'pewter with a
sledge hammer!

XL can open html files. File>Open and follow the wizard.

I cant open the file. It goes to the excel worksheet and
is unable to open. Says it may have been moved,renamed
or deleted. It is not in the recycle bin. I have tried
to right click on it and it is not a recognizable format,
even tho the extension is .xls.
