Missing Icons within both IE7 and Firefox 3

When rendering websites I do not see icons within either IE7 OR Firefox 3.
Tray and desktop icons render as expected. This would appear to be an XP
issue since both browsers yield the same problem.

Using Win XP Pro.

Ideas, please?.

Thanks for your reply. I have always found it difficult to define problems
in writing so so I'll attempt to answer your questions. Of course the
problem is MY COMPUTER - excuse me for not saying I think it is XP related ON
MY COMPUTER.

One example of missing icons can be found on www.yahoo.com. Down the left
hand side of page is a list of items ( answers, autos, etc). In front of
each of these items should be a small icon - missing on my computer. It
would appear icons of this type are missing on all web sites.

If you could tell me what information about my system would be helpful, I'll
pass it along.
