Hi,
When I attempt to load XP, I get an error message saying
that a file is corrupt or missing and needs to be
replaced, the message reads <windowsroot>\system32
\hal.dll,needs to be replaced. Could you please help? I
have run chkdsk through the recovery option
on the cd, and
I have been advised to try expand d:\i386\hal.dl_
c:\windows\system32\hal.dll, at the windows prompt in the
recovery mode, but when i do this it says it cannot create
file hal.dll, and so 0 files have been expanded.
I have also followed the advice on the website concerning
the bootcfg, but this again has made no difference.
Please help.
