Missing Global Address Catalog

We purchased a new laptop to use as a workstation. On
this laptop came Office XP 2003 trial which we were going
to use and purchase.

Then we installed the software for a Toshiba PDA, which
installed Office 2002 Outlook which is incompatible with
Office XP 2003 Outlook. We resolved that problem by
uninstalling Office XP 2003 Outlook. But now the Office
2002 Outlook does not show the Global Address Catalog. It
appears that we should be using "MS Exchange Settings" for
the profile but that option is not available. The setting
it is using is "Outlook".

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Doug

Wow, you're mixing things up here...

There is Outlook 2003 that came with your laptop and there is Outlook 2002
that came with your PDA.

Is it correct to say that you downgraded to Outlook 2002? There is no need
for that; use Outlook 2003 and download the latest version of Active Sync
from the Microsoft and you should be able to connect without any problems
(that is if you synchronise by using Active Sync).

MS Exchange Settings and Outlook are profiles. Exchange is an account type
which can be used in a profile. Start with a clean profile and make sure
that you choose Exchange when configuring accounts. You can do this by going
to Control Panel-> Mail-> button Show Profiles...
