Missing fonts in Word 2002

Using MS Office XP with Word 2002 on MS Windows XP Home Ed and some of my
fonts have gone missing. I haven't changed the printer or the driver, which
is an HP Deskjet 930C and it seems to be set up OK. Documents that I used to
have in, for example, Mistral, and an Olde English font are now just in
something like Arial.

Thanks - Ted

Fonts don't usually just disappear. Are you sure you haven't installed any
different software? Even that shouldn't *delete* fonts, though some users
have reported that they have fewer fonts after installing an upgrade version
of Office. In any case, your main concern should be how to get the fonts
back. According to http://www.microsoft.com/typography/fonts/default.aspx,
Mistral was supplied with Access 97 SR2, Greetings 99, Home Publishing 99,
Office 97 Small Business Edition SR2, Office 97 SR1a, Office Professional
Edition 2003, Picture It! 2000, Picture It! 2002, Publisher 2000, Publisher
97, TrueType Font Pack 2, and Works 4.5a. Old English Text MT was supplied
with Greetings 99, Home Publishing 99, Office 97 Small Business Edition SR2,
Office Professional Edition 2003, Picture It! 2000, Picture It! 2002,
Publisher 2000, Publisher 98, and TrueType Font Pack 2. If you have any of
the above programs (which do *not* include Office XP), you should be able to
find these fonts somewhere in the .cab files for those products.

When you have found them on the distribution CDs, copy them to the Windows
Fonts folder.
