I have run anti virus software this morning, and now all my folders in My
Documents are either empty or missing altogether, although I have back ups of
a lot of the material there is still alot that I need, any ideas how to
recover it?

Hi Louise,

See if the Anti-virus log reveals anything. (deleted / quarantined file names list etc). If this is not caused by the AV software, try a thrd-party file recovery tool such as PC-Inspector.

Do a search for some file you know is in My Documents. During backup you
may have inadvertently moved the contents to another folder. It's easy for
that to happen. All your files may be quite intact, just sitting in the
wrong place. If you find them, just drag them back to My Documents in
Windows Explorer.
