Missing Files

Microsoft XP Home Edition, Dell Inspiron 1150, not sure what other things I
should mention for this. Last night I noticed all the personal files in a
main folder I have had on my desktop were gone. The main folder was still
there but everything inside it was just mysteriously missing. Everything else
on my computer was untouched. I tried doing a system restore to two days
before and it restored all the subcatagory folders within the main folder but
the files are still nowhere to be found. I didn't delete them, Norton found
no viruses and Spybot Search and Destroy found something called Backweb Lite
(http://www.backweb.com/) which I did not knowingly install. Any ideas what
may have happened?

BackWeb is a generic, background downloading tool that software vendors can
incorporate into their product to download data to the user's PC. Its
operation depends on the instructions given to it by the individual software
vendor who bundles it.

You may have allowed malware onto your computer that used BackWeb to
download something malicious which evidentally wiped out many of your files.
