missing files /applications

I have Windows XP and had Word 2000. My son inadvertently
deleted files which are now causing some problems. I
cannot open word 2000 and I cannot download patches for
XP because of errors that are created. My PC appears to
be missing certain data but I do not have a clue.

Is there a simple way to see what basic
files/applications a user should have or is there a way
to fill in the missing pieces via downloads ?

Regards
Geoff

Not really. The best thing to do is just reinstall Word 2000 by reinstalling Office 2000. Do not uninstall first. Just reinstall.
