When I click on Add or Remove in Control panel or just about any thing except
the internet I get the big red X: C:\windows\system32\rundll32.exe I
downloaded an AVI viewer last night and everything I tried to open would open
with that... What on earth have I done. I have an XP home edition upgrade
disc. Can I copy the missing file from there or what should I do ?? HELP
PLEASE

Try this:
Go to the run box on the Start Menu and type in: sfc /scannow this will
restore any system files that are corrupt or missing.
