when I opened outlook today, all my old emails and
folders I had set up disappeared. any ideas as to what
happened? a week or so ago I followed the prompts to
update certain programs, and one of them was to upgrade to
Outlook Express 6, but the problem didn't occur right away
so I don't know if it's related or not. Although today I
did get a "Welcome to Outlook Express 6" email, so maybe
it is related. Either way, I just need to get my emails
back!

Ask Outlook Express questions in an Outlook Express newsgroup.

My guess is that you found your answer by now. However, I've found no answer posted so decided to submit. This SHOULD be the solution; however, I won't know for sure until a week or so has passed (i.e., if I still have old emails in my folders). I found this (finally) using the Help screens.

First, access the Help mode and search for "Restore Archived Items." Once the folders/files have been restored, seek out
"Turn off AutoArchive." I believe this will take care of our troubles.
