missing email

I have a user who has been moving his email to the
outlook today (mailbox - username) folder in the folder
list. He is actually using the 'move to folder' smart
icon and it is listed in there. Where does the email go
and how do I go about retrieving it. I searched all .pst
files created on computer and searched for *.eml files
with no success. Any help is greatly appreciated.
