Missing Domain Controller Administative Shares

C

Chima

My windows 2000 domain contoller which is has exchange
2000 on it started coming up without the Admin$ IPC$
print$ and c$ shares. I tried starting it with the command
net share IPC$ and so oo. This starts it but in about 1
minute the share is lost again.

This prevents systems on network from viewing the network
systems using network places. Again, trying to add a new
user to a group is not possible reporting that the object
picker could not open because no location from which to
chose object could be found.

The network can only be browsed using the unc path. My
netlogon service is runningand the sysvol is available. I
have a second domain controller which is okay but the
problem is still on. What do i do my job is on the line.

Thanks

there is a virus around the net (quite old one) that wipes out admin shares.
Check your server.
