missing dll files

Max

When I try to open IE a window says the page cannot be
displayed. Also on the address entry it has
http://www.perfectnav.com/index.cfm...AFE-8448-4103-A0CA-AD6AE0EAE9C8&version=1.5.0
I don't know why I am getting that address. Could it have
something to do with an eliminated spyware file? Also when
I looked in the System Information under IE File Version
two files were missing. They were iecont.dll and
iecontlc.dll. Does anybody have any information about
possible ways to correct this issue. Thanks in advance.

Max -

That page opens a "The Site you are looking for "http://www.yahoo.com/" is
not available" mega alternative search page. The kind which is usually junk,
or junk-laden.

For your missing dll files see here:
http://snipurl.com/7ctl
AND HERE:
http://snipurl.com/7ctm

Seems they are a "non-existent" file? They don't exist on my W98se. Seems
not to exist on others XP's either. Maybe related to some third-party stuff?
If the files are real and are needed by some other program, that program
will "let you know" when you try to use it.

From a computer with CD burn capabilities, burn these files to a CD, then
copy them to your computer, install and run them.

Download this program to restore your IE connection:

IMPORTANT:
Before trying to remove spyware, download a copy of LSPFIX from
the URL below - some malware may kill your internet connection when it is
removed, this program will enable you to regain your connection.
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm

Start your computer and let it boot to the desktop if it's able.

Click START > RUN > type in SFC

(This is the System File Checker Program)

Put your Windows OS disk in the CD drive

In the system file checker box on your screen, tick
"Scan for altered files"
and if it finds any corrupted files ,let it try and replace
them
