missing desktop

Thank you David. This is the information i have been looking for. But it
was so painful getting it. None of the other newsgroups i use even come
close. Seems that everyone out there is afraid to go into specific details
about the registry or how it interacts with different aspects of the OS. I
look at the problem this way: Windows is already broken so I will try
anything to attempt to fix it, even if it requires going into the registry.
So, when I go into work Monday, I will focus on the info you provided. I
never give up...I'm relentless!!!
 
Look for things with the word bands in it and look under local machine as well.
