Missing "D" Drive

Jack

OS operated OK until recently. Have "C" & "D" HD's.
The "D" drive disappeared from the system. It does not
appear anywhere in Explorer. etc. Any suggestions in how
to recover the HD?

Go to Disk Managment. What does it show there? It may be as smiple as a
drive letter needs to be assigned but I assume it will show some type of
error.

When you follow Leonard's suggestion and attempt to assign a drive letter,
do you receive an error that the operation did not complete?
Did you recently install Napster/Roxio?
1. Create an erd and select "also back up the registry.
2. Run regedt32
3. Check
HKLM\SYSTEM\CCS\Control\Class\{4D36E967-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}.
If you see UpperFilters which will be blank and UpperFiltersBak which will
have partmgr in there. Delete the UpperFilters value and rename
UpperFiltersBak to UpperFilters.
