Missing CD Rom and burner

my computer can't recognize the cd roms, although they
are installed, and once in a great while it will show
them, but then I can't access their properties. Any
suggestions I would surely appreciate. I'm running WinXP
512 ram---133mgz---Pentium 3---25 gigs---The CD ROM is
Compaq CD-Rom LTN403 and my burner is Phillips PCRW804K.
I have a "Flash" update for the Phillips burner but it
can't be installed because windows can't find the drive.

Thank you so much for your speedy reply---I'm assuming I

go to that website and download a fix and install it.
Will you please tell me how I should restore it to
CD/CDVD Drives Explorer? Thanks again---I've been
working on this one a LONG time.

HI TC---I apologize---I posted my reply before I went to

website---all my instructions are there---thank you SO
MUCH---again---I received a fix on the Newsgroup in a
very short time. I've been searching for it on the
Knowledge Base for two weeks to no avail.
