Missing CD / DVD drive icons on My Computer

I installed Roxio Easy Creator 6 on my PC (XP) however it
did not work because the CD & DVD drives are not supported.
Now those drive icons disappeared from My Computer and even
after removing Roxio the problem remains - the System
Restore function doesn`t work either - does anybody have
any idea of how to get those drive icons back on my PC to
use my drives properly??
