Missing bottom bar from browser

I have lost the bottom bar that displays the page that is
opening, and the progress of the page downloading. I now
do not know if the page is loading, or if I need to click
the link again, or what. I can not get any help from
Microsoft or the manufacturer of my computer. Can anyone
help me restore this?

I have already deleted the program and installed it
again, multiple times. This worked the first couple of
times this happened to me, but has not helped now. Any
suggestions?
 
in 'view' button top bar
pick 'show status bar'
then when you close use file->close
instead of [x] in corner.
 
You can click in internet explorer: view-status bar, that
should show it.
