Missing border in print preview and also hard copy

I am having dificulty to complete a cell border in my
worksheet. I draw it per procedure, but cannot see it
either in print preview or in the printed hard copy. I
read somewhere that this could be due to interference
from an embedded object of another file. Could you please
tell me how to rectify this?

I have had this when hiding columns to the left of the cells.
rectified it by making sure that the left border was formatted (not th
right border of the hidden column)
