Missing back/forward buttons in explorer folder windows

I cannot navigate back as I go down into folders.....

The buttons at the top are missing on all windows created by explorer.

If I go into ie and type in, c:\, it shows windows with the navigate
buttons.

How do I fix this?


W2k, sp4 (It did it before sp4 also).

Ok

FYI for all....

Go to an offending window

F11/full screen
f11/back to a window with the bar stuff!

Now, right click the bar, select unlock toolbar
Move items around to look right again....

Right click, lock toolbar

Close window

Now, all windows will open with the navigation stuff.
