Dunno what I did, but the Wireless LAN Mini PCI Adapter Icon which shows
signal strength is now missing from my system tray. I have checked in the
Customize Notifications list and it is listed in the Past Items list. I have
changed the behavior to Always show, but no change happens. My network
connections work correctly so that part is not a problem.... I am just
stumped as to how to get this icon back. Any advice would be most
appreciated. Thank you.

Control Panel/Network Connections/ Right click on the connection icon, then choose "Properties", and be sure the box "Show icon in notification area when connected" is checked.

thanks for responding Tom. I have checked this item before and did so again
at your suggestion. The box for show icon in notification area when
connected is checked. There is an icon for the network connections in the
system tray. There were orgianally two different icons, the wireless network
connections icon and a signal strenght icon. The signal strength icon is the
missing one. Any other suggestions?
