Mispelled words in autofill

Guest

I have tried and tried to fix this, but with no success. When I begin to type
"Troy Parks and Recreation" it gives me an auto fill suggestion of "Troy
Parks and Recreaiton" which, as you can see, Recreation is mispelled.

I have gone into Microsoft Word under Tools/AutoCorrect Options/AutoText,
and there is my mispelled word. I delete and save, but it always comes back.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,

Dan

1. Try asking Word or Office application questions in a newsgroups for
Word or Office instead of the operating newsgroup.
2. Try correcting the spelling and click replace.

not to put too fine an edge on it, but 'mispelled' is misspelled. is
it possible you are accidentally deleting the good spelling from the
dict.??? An easy mistake when the eyes glaze over after xx too many
hours at the PC!!

cheers

No wonder........you misspelled "mispelled" (sic).
(sic) = spellec incorrectly.

Um, (sic) equals "Spelling Is Copied"? And you butchered "spelled"

In Bob I <[email protected]> had this to say:

My reply is at the bottom of your sent message:

LOL Well we'd better get their spell checker fixed up for them right away! A
couple of years ago in the DTS list we went over automatic mis-spellings and
how people can still read them even if they're completely butchered. I am
pretty sure that I still have the VBScript that will automatically butcher
your spelling. <g> It's good fun if you're ever board and the author doesn't
mind me sharing it.

I checked, I still have it. It's 4kb but the author's name is missing. So I
suppose (and I'm pretty sure it's Doug's) they won't mind but if you want it
I could always ask them.
