Misfiring calculation

I'm trying to calculate a total and pull it into a query both to show
the amount and for a subsequent expression. However the result i'm
getting is the product of the total times the number of occurances of
its index in the table i'm totaling on. I hope that makes sence. I'm
sure this is quite simple. thank you in advance
 
Show us the SQL. Open the query in design view. Next go to View, SQL View
and copy and past it here. Information on primary keys and relationships
would be a nice touch too.
