Mirror indents?

What new purpose does it serve? We could always choose the left & right
indents earlier. Does it do something different, automatically?

Can you provide some background on what you're talking about? Where are you
seeing mirror indents?

I never noticed that check-box, which you explained in the thread
"Suzanne Barnhill."

It does in fact indent the paragraph where it's selected, and "inner"
and "outer" refer to paragraphs on facing pages -- so you can have a
paragraph set off from the page-edge or from the binding the same
amount on both sides of the opening. (I don't think I've ever seen a
book that uses such a design, but it might be useful if you wanted to
highlight a paragraph by making it stick into the outer margin. You
could use it for a boxed paragraph to set it off, without having to
worry about Text Boxes.)
