In the company logo for TOYS "R" US, the "R" is mirrored. Is there any
straightforward way to mirror a letter in a TTF font, or to create a
derivative font with all letters mirrored?

There's no built-in way to do this in Word, though you could copy the
letter, Paste Special as Picture, and then flip.

I use a mirror image font for this. The one I use is called PC Reflections
and is a very cheap font that I got from a CD of 1,000 fonts that I bought
years ago for something like $9.99. Most of the fonts are worth what they
cost, but for the occasional Toys 'R Us, it works well enough. I suspect
that if you Google for mirror-image fonts, you'll find something equally
suitable. The first hit on my search was
http://www.filelibrary.com/Contents/Multi-Platform/100/37.html, which
includes a free PRMirror font. Most of the rest of the hits seem to be
instructions for creating a mirror-image font.
