About the grain dissolver of the this scanner:

Does it work independently of ICE

Does it work on silver based b&w film, ICE being of no use with these films.

Does the grain dissolver work with Vuescan ?

How good is this scanner with silver based b&w film ?

Yes. But ICE doesn't work independently of GD in Minolta software

Yes, it work on silver based b&w films. GD is simple lihgt diffuser between
lamp and CCD

Does the grain dissolver work with Vuescan ?

Yes it work with vuescan and it work indpendentlu from ICE and ICE work
independently of GD

How good is this scanner with silver based b&w film ?

Very good. I just scanned T-Max and TriX - very good scans, contrsat etc.
And very good grain resolution.
