Minimized gaming

During gameplay my system will periodically minimize the
game bringing me to the desktop screen. This usually
happens twice every 5 minutes or so. Anyone know what
might cause this? The system is plenty powerful enough to
run these games and up until recently this has started
happening.

Hi
This is because your game is running in full screen (like
a dos based game). Now when something else gets activated
like a scheduler or screen saver etc or any other program
it will bring that program to the front and hence your
game will get minimized because it cannot run in a
window. check to see if any programs are getting called
and remomve that.
