"Minimize" is closing the inbox. How do I fix

After the last automatic update, everytime I try to minimize the inbox, it
closes it instead. The reminders stay open, as do any open messages
 
are you sure it's closing and not just minimizing to the tray? right click
on the outlook icon in the tray and see if it's checked to hide when
minimized.
