minimize all windows button is missing from the task bar how can i get it back?

I lost a lot of windows and had to re-install but since i have the button on the task bar that you click to minimize all windows has gone.
i have enabled quick launch so all of the other icons e.g. internet explorer are there but that icon has gone and im not sure how to get it back?
any ideas? thanks!
