Minesweeper Problem...

Being that it's my fave game, this is a huge problem. Every time I have
almost solved the board on the Expert level, the minesweeper window goes
blank and then says it isn't responding. It never responds, so I'm left to
restart the game, or close Minesweeper altogether. When I close it, the
window states that "minesweeper executable is no longer working." I have
Vista, and have been having this problem the whole time I've had this
computer. Is this a fixable bug?
