Migrating Files and Settings NO Floppy

T

Tecknomage

OK, I read the Tecknet step-by-step at:
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb457074.aspx?ppud=4

Problem, new PC do not come with a floppy drive.

A procedure for non-floppy method is not mentioned in the step-by-step.

I did try designating a folder on our network that IS ACCESSABLE via Network
Places, but the Wizard insists it cannot access.

What I need is a fullproff method of migrating a user AND all settings via
the network. I have found a 3rd party utility for doing this but have not
gotten an answer to questions I sent to provider.

Any suggestions?

Re-read the step by step again. I states 3.5" floppy or other removable media. A flash drive
works and they are a good investment for anyone with a computer.
If the old PC is a Windows 9X, you will need to download drivers for the flash drive.
