After many successful installs of XP, I have run into a stone wall on
installation.
While analyzing the computer, I receive a message that reads:

Migisol has caused an error in setupapi.dll Migisol will now close. It this
error doesn't go away try restarting the computer

FIXED.

Microsoft telephone folks had me remove about 8 programs that they
identified as "bad guys" that the anti-spyware programs didn't pick up. Then
the installation went as expected.

Sorry I didn't write them down. It was a long trying day... The next project
was to set up a cable modem, wireless router, and Wireless PCI adapter. The
instructions for each assumed that you would have an ethernet cable
initially. The Linksys folks talked me through the set up and again, I
couldn't do it again to save myself.
