I just tested it here and it works if you run the setup.exe in compatibility
mode for WinNT. I haven't tested it with an external device but the demo
song is playing as I type this. (WinXP SP2). HTH.

Only one thing wrong with Logic Pro: It's, yup...wait for it:
BABYA-ware. 'nuff said.

You can only record audio for a minute only with Anvil-and no real
multi-track unless you pay for a add-on, unlike Logic which has
multi-track editing (even multiple tempos) and a much nicer interface
than compared to Anvil or Jazz++.

Babya bAudio in Logic can record both MIDI and audio files.
I also have a support group for Logic and other MIDI sequencer
software at:http://groups.yahoo.com/group/babyalogic

I don't think we are talking about the same program. Anvil Studio has
no such limitations.

Hi Peeps,

Is there any midi sequencing freeware about please?

Regards,
John.

Hi John!

I have not found a freeware sequencer.
The only, is maybe "Jazz++". But as all other freeware sequencer I
found, it could´nt even import a midi file so as it is.

I have found Soundcards (PCI-shit ;-() bundled with one of the best, if
not the best sequencer software (I think from the same House as the
soundcard), dated from 1999 (Windows 3.11 and Win9x/ME) for a few
bucks. Cubase is also very good but far away from freeware ;-).

Best Regards,

Daniel Mandic

P.S.: If you are strictly freeware, you could give "Quartz Audio Master
Freeware" a try. Seems more capable than Jazz++

No problem. Right click on setup.exe and choose properties. Click on the
Compatibility tab. Check the box that says "Run this program in
compatibility mode". In the dropdown box, select "Windows NT 4.0 (Service
Pack 5)". Click OK. Then double click setup.exe to install. Good luck.

Thanks for the tip Louis, but that makes no difference on my PC running
WinXP Pro SP2, unfortunately.

John.

no such limitations.

FWIW, back when I was trying to get by with Anvil it did indeed crap out
once the Midi tracks reached a certain length, and it had terrible sync
between tracks. These didn't seem to be intentional limitations.

(I've since found an inexpensive commercial prog that can handle all my
needs.)

I've just starting playing around with Jazz++ myself and I do think
it's worth investigating. The interface is rather outdated but it's got
a good set of features for freeware. And it is able to load midi files.
