Microsoft Works task Launcher

I recently purchased & installed Windows XP. I noticed
that I do not have the icon or selection on the menu for
the Microsoft Works Task Launcher. I am not able to
create letters, labels, envelopes, etc. This feature is
very, very important for me to use. Did I purchase
defective software or did I install it incorrectly? Do I
need to reinstall the software? Help!!!

Windows XP is an operating system. It does not include Microsoft Works.
You'll need to purchase Microsoft Works and install it.

If you think that Windows XP includes Microsoft Works, sorry to
tell you that you're mistaken. Neither it, nor any other version
of Windows, has ever come with Works, nor with any other
significant application software. Such programs have to be
bought.

If your previous computer, running an older version of Windows,
came with Works, it was because the vendor who sold it bundled
Works as part of the package he sold you, not because that
version of Windows came with Works.
