how do i access microsoft word on my computer windows xp
edition

You access it from your local retailer. No version of Windows has ever
included MS Officeor any of it's Applications, e.g. Word, Excel, etc. Some OEMs
have loaded Office or portions of it on their PCs as part of a retail package.

Unless you have installed Microsoft Word, or had it pre-installed when you
bought your PC, you can't access it. Word is part of the Office suite, and
not a part of Windows XP.

Greetings --

Well, assuming you've purchased and installed Microsoft Word
properly, it can be accessed by clicking Start > All Programs >
Microsoft Word.
