Microsoft Word 2002 and bullets in documents

have a legal and registered version of Microsoft Word 2002.

On my Dell laptop, which has xp home release 1, all the bullets print out
properly.

On my Shuttle with xp home release 2, and using the same Microsoft Word CD,
and printer, the bullets turn out as special characters that I did not
specify.

When I look at the same document on the screen in either computer, the
on-screen document looks fine.

I have tried creating new Word docs on the Shuttle PC, but the bullets still
come out as special characters.

I used the 'standard' installation both times.

If the documents look the same on screen in both cases, then the printer on
the Shuttle is set to substitute printer fonts in place of the PC fonts.
Check your printer properties.

The printer is a HP Laserjet 2100. When I move the document over to the
Dell, without adjusting anything on the printer, the document prints fine on
the Dell, but not on the Shuttle.

I didn't see any font subsitute checkbox in any of the tabs under properties
of the printer.

Keep looking. You've identified the problem.
