Have 2 problems.....Just installed a new Microsoft
Wireless keyboard and mouse. After installation the
standby mode does not operate. I click on standby and the
system goes into stanby but instantly returns to the
desktop.
The screen saver will not function.

Just to check, I reinstalled my old keyboard and mouse.
Both standby and screen saver work fine.`

Keyboard is a "Micrsoft Wireless Multimedia Keyboard 1.1"

Hi Charles,

It may be "one of those things".....

Go to www.microsoft.com/downloads and see if an updated driver set is
available for your wireless equipment. If there is, try it. If not, then you
may need to forget about using standby. It's one of those things that
doesn't always work, and 99 times out of a 100 it's a driver issue (the
driver does not fully support that function in your system, or it is
conflicting with something else).
