MICROSOFT VM, what function does it perform??

I looked under TOOLS then INTERNET OPTIONS then ADVANCED then MICROSOFT
VM then saw "java logging enabled" ticked..

I d\l a file that required Java and was installing it?

What function or what does java do for windows?

For Windows, nothing!

For Internet, a lot! Java is a platform independent programming language
usually for web pages. As long as you have a web browser that is
Java-enabled, the program should run.
