Just recently I've noticed that every time I start up my PC, Microsoft is
attempting to communicate with svchost.exe from IP 207.46.197.32. (Whois
shows this as a Microsoft IP)
What possible reason does Microsoft have to communicate with my machine at
every start-up? There is no start-up process that should require a web
communication 100% of the time in my opinion.
So far I have been denying the communication with my firewall and see no
difference in my performance, but I would really like to find out what
application (if any) requires this communication and what information is
being received or sent and why.
OS= XP Pro 32 Bit SP2
Office programs include: Office XP Pro 2002 and a couple 2007 Office Pro apps
Web Connection is DSL
Thanks
