Microsoft Scanner and Picture Viewer

Whenever I insert a CD containing photos, I have lost the function of the
"Microsoft Scanner and Picture Viewer", which downloads the photos to the
"My Pictures" folder on the hard drive. I can still access the pictures on
the CD, but would like to be able to use the Scanner and Picture Viewer
function again. Does anyone know of a way to correct this issue?

As for me: I no more can see small pictures in Explorer since I disabled
shimgvw.dll
( Start/run: regssvr32 /u shimgvw.dll ), when I go to see them.
Even if I click on film, mosaiques, icons or... Is this the same
problem? If not,
how do I get them back? Thanks. Again.

Yes - Run the line again without the /u
