I started getting a notice every time I start my computer. It comes up &
wants me to registar for the internet. It give me 3 days if I say no. I can't
registar because I'm not on a phone hook-up, I am on a cable hook-up & it
won't let me go anwhere because I don't have a phone to use. Does anyone know
why this came up & where it came from? And would appricate any information on
what to do.
Thanks Puppytina

I'm assuming that you're on the same machine that you are talking about in
your post. If you can get on here and post this message, then you can
register your copy of the OS. If I'm not mistaken you are being asked to
register your copy of windows, and all you should have to do if you have an
internet connection is tell it to go ahead and register through whatever
connection you are using to connect in the first place.

Youre talking about activating, not registering, anyways; the fact that you
are posting through the net can mean you have access to activate (not
register, as that is not compulsory) your copy of Windows. If you can afford
the net, you probably have a phone too, as if I were that poor, I know what
priority need I would have if I could only afford one.

Call the number the process offers if you cannot activate over the net, and
tell them your situation.

She means activating, not registering her copy. Activation is necessary to
use Windows, registering is optional.
