Microsoft programs

I have 2 Microsoft programs installed on my computer, one is called:
Microsoft.net Framework 1.1, the other is: Microsoft.net Framework 2.0.

My question: What would happen if I uninstall them both?

The reason I would like to uninstall them is that they are responsible that
I have to click on a username when my computer starts. I tried everything
else to get rid of this Welcome Screen which says I should select my
Useraccount, I even had some recomendations from some members, but this
Welcome screen keeps on popping up.

Thanks in advance

No need to remove them for that purpose. Have you gone back to windows
update and seen if there are any updates for these .Net installations?
Sometimes installing the updates will restore an auto logon. Otherwise here
is how you can setup auto logon (though this is not a good security practice
to have the system do this).

1. Go to Start | Run and type in: control userpasswords2 | Ok.

2. On the Users tab, clear the Users Must Enter A User Name And Password To
Use This Computer check box and then click OK.

3. In the Automatically Log On dialog box that appears, type the user name
and password for the account you want to be logged on each time you start
your computer.

You can accomplish the same thing by:

Download and install TweakUI for XP and use its auto logon feature.

Lastly you can add the Dialog box that comes up when running control
userpasswords 2 to the Control Panel with the following tweak:

Add Control User Passwords2 to the Control Panel (Line 1)

As to the original question, if you remove .Net any programs that need one
or the other won't run. If you have no programs that need it, then you
won't an impact.
