MIcrosoft Products Inaccessible

eI'm not really sure where to post this problem. I have Windows XP on a
laptop, my husband has his own PC and we run it through a wireless network.

I suddenly am unable to reply or send email on Outlook, although I can
receive messages. I also can't cut or paste. I've since discovered that when
I go into Word -- even documents that I've done -- everything is locked so I
can't edit, cut, paste, etc. Excel as well, and I never use Excel! Why have I
suddenly lost permission to use my Microsoft products?

Did you activate Office? Did you use the same Office setup disks on both computers?
What version Office are you using? Office 2003 allows the setup on two computers, one
PC and the other a portable device. You will have to activate the second computer on
the phone. There is a phone number on the activation window.

OK (I'll have to ask my husband about the activation), but before this
everything was working fine? Why would it work one day and then the next day
not work at all?

Open Word and select Help / Activate Product from the toolbar. If Office has not been activated this dialog will let you know and start the activation wizard if it has not been activated.

You might want to try repairing MS Office. Go to Help and click on Detect and Repair. You may need the MS Office installation disk.
