I am not too sure what year the Microsoft Outlook is, all I know that it's an
old version. The problem is that I can't receive emails and I do not know
why. Can anybody help me with any idea's that could be causing it and
solutions please? The problem has only just arisen. A message did come up
saying that it couldn't find the server but unfortunately the message came
and went before I could write it down and I am unable to retrieve it again.

In Outlook click on Help -> About Microsoft Outlook. This will tell you
what version of Outlook you have.

The best option is to contact your mail provider once you've determined the
version of Outlook and verify that your settings are still what they should
be. If you are getting an error that the server cannot be contacted then
it's likely one of the following problems:

- Your mail server name is incorrect
- You have antivirus or firewall software that is preventing your connection
to the server
- There is a problem with Outlook itself
