Microsoft Outlook

Could I propose a search engine for Outlook?

When we receive a phone call and want to know who it is, there should be an
option on Outlook contacts where we can type in the phone number and see who
it is. Obviously if that number is not in the contacts, nothing would show
up, but if it is, we can easily see who called without having to call them
back.

What a brilliant idea ay? Now, what do I get? =)

This already exists. It is called advanced find and can be accessed quickly
with Ctrl+Shift+F.

I have to agree with ginakwak415's basic complaint.

There are various solutions for "desktop" search floating
around--addins for Outlook 11 and 12; built into Vista--that are
supposed to work globally (i.e. easy to use--look everywhere for this
phone number), as opposed to tightly focused (e.g. find all items in
the Business Contacts folder where HomeFax=).

I tried several solutions I have installed on various PCs, with several
variations in the phone number search string, yesterday. None of them
found Contacts with those numbers, in either Outlook or BCM, although
they will find Contacts when the search string occurs in the Body or
FullName fields.

Needs work.
