Microsoft Outlook 2003 Shutsdown immediately after opening

My outlook all of a sudden shuts down immediately after opening. It opens,
appears to connect to net, and closes. I don't have time to download mail or
look at calender or basically anything. I've never changed any settings, it
just stopped working one day.

I'm at my online mailbox quota and can't delete the remaining important
emails. I've tried reinstalling over itself, and uninstalling-reinstalling,
but neither worked. How can i fix my outlook?

Any help is much appreciated!

Can you open Outlook in Safe Mode? Click the Windows Start Button, click
Run, and in the box type "outlook.exe /safe" (without the quotes).

What happens if you try opening Outlook in Safe Mode?

start->run->outlook.exe /safe

Are you using an Exchange server, a POP server, or IMAP server? In the
latter tow cases, use your webmail interface to your mailbox and delete
unneeded data.

I just tried that a few times and it reacted the same way. It opens and then
closes just as fast. Thank you for the suggestion. Any other ideas?

Hi Brian,

Unfortunately i've deleted everything i can from the address in question,
and must keep the remaining emails for records purposes. I can't delete any
more data. I need to download the items to my computer from the server to
maintain these important messages, hence the problem with outlook continually
closing.

Do you have any ideas or have you ever come across a problem like this before?
The system is a POP3 based webmail that i'm connecting to.

Thanks,
Patrick

I've not personally encountered it, but one thing to try is to use the web
interface to create a new server-side folder, move the next message in line
to that folder to get it out of the server-side Inbox and try Outlook again
with the remaining messages.

Also, what size is your PST anmd is it ANSI or Unicode?
