I was just editing a regular document (mostly text, some graphics), that I've
had for MONTHS, changing "this" to "the" -- that kind of thing. As soon as I
hit "save," the message "Microsoft Office Word has stopped working" appears.
Excuse me, but WTF? It asked me to verify if my flash drive was correctly
installed, and I said yes. Then Word proceeded to DELETE the file I was
working on. Permanently from the flash drive. When the re-started Word after
this, there wasn't even an attempt at recovering the document. (Yes, I do
have backups of my work.)
What the hell happened? All I did was save the file. Writing and editing
documents is my work, and I need for this to NOT happen again. I did
absolutely nothing out of the ordinary -- I mean, I was just editing a file!
