I just loaded XP and microsoft office, but I can't seem
to locate the old 98 office tool bar that you could put
program shortcuts on and dock it to the side of the
screen and hide it just like the taskbar on the bottom of
the screen. I went to office in explore and I don't find
it there.

Anyone who can tell me how to locate it???
THANKS

I seem to remember in Office XP they did away with the toolbar.

Bull,

Had the same problem. In Office XP it doesn't install by default. Run the
Office XP installation disk again and choose custom installation. Go
through the list of components to install and make sure "shortcut bar" or
"office tools" is chosen to run from computer or something like that (can't
remember exactly what it says). Then you will find it in the start menu
under "Microsoft Office Tools". The actual file is

C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office 10\Msoffice.exe

Hope this helps.

Look in Program Files/Microsoft Office/Office10 for MSOFFICE.EXE That is the
shortcut bar. If it's not there reinsert your MSOFFICE XP professional CD
and select to install it.

Well if you're attempting to load Office 98 under Windows, no wonder - it's
Mac only!

Try Advanced Launcher; it's much better.

When you open Office the first time it should open the
Office Toolbar. You can find the Toolbar exe program and put
a shortcut in your startup menu.

From Excel Help............

Use the Office Shortcut Bar.

Some of the content in this topic may not be applicable to some languages.

You can use the Microsoft Office Shortcut Bar for single-click access to the
resources you use most often. You can quickly start a new file, open an
existing file, or start an Office program.

On the Microsoft Windows Start menu, point to Programs, point to Microsoft
Office Tools, and then click Microsoft Office Shortcut Bar.

Note For Help using the Office Shortcut Bar, click the Office Shortcut Bar
menu , and then click Help.
