I may have deleted notepad by mistake. How? Can I get it back

If the file is not deleted and you have only lost the shortcut, you'll find
notepad.exe in the <c:\windows>\system32 folder. Replace <c:\windows> with
the path to your Windows folder. Once you find the file, right click on it
and select Send To Desktop [as a shortcut].

You may have to change the view in Folder Options to see system files and
protected files before you can locate notepad.exe.

If the file is indeed missing, you can expand a fresh copy from your
Windows XP CD or, if available on your hard drive, the i386 folder that
holds the Windows setup files.

Hi Sharon,
Thanks for your response. I probably should be more clearer. Here is
what I originally did. I installed note tab light and made it my html
default editor in replace of note pad. I decided later to go back to note
pad, but I couldn't find it. I followed your instructions below and when I
went to my desktop after sending it there it was note tab light. What next?
Thanks so much for your help,

Have you checked to see if NoteTab Lite is listed in Add/Remove Programs?
If it is, try removing it and then see if Notepad is restored as the
default.
